Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers????

...for the halftime show? I'm bored to tears..(well I'm not a big football fan anyways, so I'm already within the city limits of boredom.) Therefore I feel the need to resort to Mrs. Madge Ritchie to make me smile right now. So please excuse me while I watch one of my all time favorite "performances" by the Queen and hopefully this will help me wake up and find the strength to go for a second helping of potato skins......mmmm.....potato skins..... :)

Dammit, now I want potato skins. With LOTS of cheese, and bacon, and sour cream...

I know, eh, Tom Petty?!? I think they were trying to bore all the black fans to sleep.

I don't understand why you were not thrilled just to see my Giants on TV. The game was the all time BEST Superbowl game ever played. The Giants defense was magical.

I sang "Freefalling" at the top of my lungs at Pepper's, the local black bar. I had a ball! (and a couple of drinks)

Let's face it, Elaine - after Janet Jackson a few years ago, they will NEVER allow anyone remotely controversial anymore to perform during the Halftime Show again. The closest we're going to get is Prince, and he's become a good boy now that he's a Jehovah's Witness.

Madge? No chance. None. They're not going to invite her, risking that she'll have a wardrobe malfunction, or say "fuck", or give the crowd the bird, or bring out a giant mirrored cross.

After Boobiegate, they'll never take a chance of something that isn't G-rated happening again.

That said, I like Tom Petty, and while his hasn't aged so well, his voice is still great. That was a nice performance - far better than subjecting us to Justin Timberlake or Bri... Bri.... THAT THING FROM KENTWOOD, LA again.

No, Tom Petty is no Madge, but I like him personally.
