I hope everyone had a Happy Easter and had their fair share of peeps. This year was the year of the chocolate bunny. Viking hubby bought one the size of me for the munchkin. It has since been decapitated and gnawed on and his pathetic yet tasty remains are still in my fridge. The munchkin and I plan to finish the job slowly.
Besides innocent chocolate bunnies, another thing brought happiness to my life the other day and that was a random song I heard on Thursday night that immediately brought me back to 6th grade.
aaaah 6th grade, the easy life as I like to call it. Jean jackets, Tiger beat and Bop magazines, folding your letters so intricately that it required a set of directions to open, the SLAM books that were passed around during class, garbage pail kids and kick the can....
okay so not really on kick the can...whatever that was....but I'm starting to feel all geezery when I reminisce about things like "notes" in the age of email and texting. I miss notes. An emoticon just doesn't compare to scribbled declarations of "B.F.F.s forever!!!" and dotting your i's with hearts.
Note writing. Truly a lost art.
So where was I? Oh yes, the song that brought back all the pre pube, pre menstrual cycle, memories....
Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to the sweet sweet moves and musical stylings of Tiffany. Back in the day, you were a Tiffany girl or a Debbie Gibson girl. I was definitely a Tiffany girl. Debbie Gibson and her Blossom hats just weren't cuttin' it for me. Tiffany was a trashy, ginger kid who "divorced" her stage mom and tapped one of the New Kids on The Block...Jon, one of the uglier ones sure, but still...What's not to love??
Please watch it all and relive the magic of the "mall tour" with me will you?:
